RTR ZONE MEMBERS TAKE TOP SPOTS RTR

RTR Zone would lik to thank the members of Palm Beach R/C Power Boaters for putting on one hot RTR class. It was an immaculate weekend and the racing was red hot. 5 boats entered the RTR class 1 Super Vee and 4 Miss Vegas boats. First heat was a scary way to start the weekend. Turn one had a nice gust of wind blowing through it and going full throttle proved to be my down fall. I went air born into the air landed right side down and cowling flew off. Black cowling proved to be too difficult to find and unfortunately was lossed. Mary (Red Vegas) went on to have a great race and pulled off a first.

Down The Straight Sport 20
I made some adjustments, including adding a bit of weight to my front left sponson. That proved to do the trick as after that I had no more lifting off the water problems. I went on to win the next 3 heats giving me an overall 1st place finish. The heats where tense and others in the heat had problems with there toss. Fred (Orange Vegas) took himself out of the remaining heats by losing control and launching over my Vegas. My backup cowl (all white) took some damage, but he sustained the most damage ripping a slit in his sponson.

He was the RTR boater who got the ball rolling. Now RTR is one of the top classes in District #3. If you want some serious racing pay a visit to any of the beautiful Florida clubs in D3. JOIN TODAY!!! POWER BOAT RACING SAFETY, GOES TO THE NEXT LEVEL!!!

When it comes to owning a RTR power boat, you have certain responsibilities. With the large out break of RTR sales its important that safety stays the main focus. There has been incidents where new and old boaters have been caught running their boats in ponds that are not insured or in some cases against the pond owners permission. As a new boater you may not be aware, but there are model boating associations you can join that will insure you as a RTR boater. Also these associations have hundreds of insured ponds to run on. In most cases these ponds are controlled by the members of the associations. As a new boater you have to also understand that even know a pond is visible this does not mean you can operate your RTR on it. Make sure that you check with the pond owner before you toss your boat. Hundred of people have been hurt not paying attention to safety. Even know your RTR is considered a toy, it is also a very deadly toy. Anything that goes 35 mph, if it hits a human or water animal, the boat will cause major damage to the victim of careless boating. As a safe boater you should never swim for you boat. It's not worth drowning for a toy. Always boat with a friend. If you want to have the best time RTR power boating RTR Zone suggest you join your local IMPBA or NAMBA club.
